More than a mark.
A voice that lasts.

OUR MISSION

To take the weight off English.

For most students, English is the subject that quietly takes over. It eats the hours that maths, science and everything else need, wears down their confidence and, for Stage 6, drags on their ATAR. We step in and tidy it up: rubric deconstruction, argument formation, essay scaffolding, every skill and every style, simplified.

Because English was never meant to be an esoteric subject reserved for the elite learner. Whether a student writes like Shakespeare or struggles to string a sentence together, the mission is the same for every one of them. We change the way they see the subject, and their place in it.

A lesson should be lived, not ticked off.

How to trust their own voice, take a risk in a response, and back themselves to pull it off under any question. Confidence and versatility over memorisation. That is what actually holds up in an exam, and long after it.

But the mark was never the whole point. A lesson with us isn't a checklist to be filled; it's an experience to live, a memory to make. The real measure isn't the 20/20. It's whether, in twenty years, a student still remembers something we said, and smiles.

WHO WE ARE

Meet the Founder

penpower started with one person who couldn't let English go. Not the marking or the memorising, but the part everyone forgets: that learning to write is learning to think, to argue, and to be heard. What began as a conviction became a way of teaching, built on the belief that the right words at the right moment can genuinely change where a young person's life goes. Every booklet, every lesson and every student journey still runs through that same belief.

OMER TAHA

FOUNDER

Omer, who takes English

far too personally.

WHAT WE TEACH

Every text, every module.

Whatever your child is studying, we've already broken it down. From the Common Module to the electives, we build deep resources for every prescribed text on the syllabus: analysis, quotes, sample responses and the scaffolding to respond with confidence. Nothing on the list is off the table.
